Archbishop-Metropolitan of the Lviv Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church Mieczyslaw Mokshitsky said that the RCC promotes the rapprochement of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the OCU created with the support of the Patriarchate of Constantinople, according to the Polish online publication Katolicka Agencja Informacyjna.

The Catholic bishop called the creation of the OCU a positive step, which "has been joined by some communities of the Moscow Patriarchate." He believes that this will eventually make it possible to create "a kind of symbiosis between the Moscow Patriarchate and the Orthodox Church of Ukraine."

The Roman Catholic bishop noted the good relations of Catholics in Ukraine with the OCU and the UOC, and described his mediation by the fact that the RCC invites to its events "all priests regardless of the rite, and they come to us willingly."

As the UOJ reported, the Archbishop of the RCC announced the visit of the Pope to Ukraine.
