On December 18, representatives of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) cut the locks on the Holy Trinity Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the village of Pasichna, Kyiv region. According to the parish rector, Archpriest Ioann Omelchuk, who reported the incident on his Facebook page, the raiders seized the church accompanied by police.

“This is very symbolic, as tomorrow, we know, is a great feast – the day of remembrance of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker of Myra. Tomorrow, the service will be held in the Sunday school building. Beyond that, the future remains uncertain. On behalf of our parishioners and myself, I humbly ask for your holy prayers,” Father Ioann wrote.

He also shared details for those wishing to support the faithful, who now must organize their liturgical life elsewhere: 441111144091786.

As previously reported by the UOJ, a vandal had earlier desecrated the Holy Trinity Church of the UOC, but was later detained by police.
