Metropolitan Yevlogiy of Sumy and Akhtyrka, Chairman of the Synodal Liturgical Commission of the UOC, presented a final report on the commission's work at the meeting of the Holy Synod on December 24. Key points from the document were published on the website of the Sumy Eparchy.

In 2024, the Liturgical Commission prepared and approved the texts of services for newly canonized saints, including services for the Holy Martyrs Alexander Glagolev, Nikolai Iskrovsky, and others.

The commission also published new prayer books, particularly the Prayer Book for Ukraine’s Defenders. It completed translations and adaptations of liturgical texts, including missionary editions for contemporary use, and composed services for the canonization of new saints.

Currently, work continues on reviewing the texts of services, akathists, and prayers dedicated to saints, as well as those honoring renowned icons of the Most Holy Theotokos.

It is noted that the report presented by the chairman of the Liturgical Commission was approved by members of the Holy Synod of the UOC.

As previously reported by the UOJ, the Holy Synod of the UOC, at its meeting on October 23, appointed Metropolitan Yevlogiy of Sumy and Akhtyrka as the new chairman of the Liturgical Commission.
