On 21 January 2025 in Ternopil, unidentified persons fired at an eparchial building, located on the territory of the UOC Cathedral of Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia.

The press service of the Ternopil region police reported that on 21 January they received a message on the special line about damage to the window of the eparchial premises belonging to the Cathedral of Saints Faith, Hope, Love and their mother Sophia in Konovaltsa Street in Ternopil.

An investigative and operational team went to the scene. Experts found a damaged window with a hole characteristic of a gunshot, and nearby – the remains of a bullet, presumably from an air gun.

According to the temple staff, the incident occurred between 18 and 21 January. It is difficult to establish the exact date, as the premises were not visited at that time.

Law enforcers seized physical evidence and sent it for examination. The Ternopil District Police Department is establishing the circumstances of the incident, studying CCTV footage and interviewing residents of nearby houses. The verification continues.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that a legal entity of the OCU was registered on the land of a UOC cathedral in Ternopil.
