On January 23, 2025, the Dnipro Court of Appeals held a hearing to review Metropolitan Arseniy's appeal against the extension of his detention, according to the Telegram channel of the Sviatohirsk Lavra.

The hearing was attended by Member of Parliament Viktoriya Hryb, who spoke in support of Metropolitan Arseniy. The court considered the appeals filed by the defense team against the decision of the Sloviansk City District Court in Donetsk Oblast on December 5, 2024, which extended the metropolitan's detention in the Dnipro pre-trial detention center until February 2, 2025.

The appellate court denied the lawyers' request to release the hierarch.

The next hearing in the Sloviansk City District Court of Donetsk Oblast will be held online on January 28, 2025. It will address the issue of extending the metropolitan's detention for another two months. The prosecutor has filed a motion to prolong the detention, while the defense will request the metropolitan's release on surety, under house arrest, or on bail.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 1:00 PM.

Earlier, UOJ reported that Metropolitan Arseniy of Sviatohirsk marked the 30th anniversary of his abbacy at the Sviatohirsk Lavra behind bars.
