MP Alexander Dubinsky reported that an SBU officer hit a 15-year-old teenager at a pedestrian crossing in Kyiv.

In his post, Dubinsky shared a video showing a black SUV striking a boy crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing at high speed.

According to Dubinsky, the driver was SBU officer Arthur Herchak, who has already been taken to a pretrial detention center. The MP also shared photos of his arrest and claimed that Herchak’s blood alcohol level was measured at 1.44‰ (with the legal limit being 0.3‰).

The child is currently in intensive care. This information has not been officially confirmed. According to the MP, Herchak is an officer in the SBU department responsible for actions against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

As the UOJ previously reported, on June 17, 2024, UOJ lawyers managed to secure the recusal of the lead investigator and senior prosecutor handling the case of Orthodox journalists accused of treason by the SBU.
