On February 3, 2025, a court hearing took place at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal regarding the termination of the usage agreement for the Lower Lavra, as reported by Lavra's lawyer, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, on his Telegram channel.
According to him, during the session, the monastery requested the recusal of one of the judges on the panel due to his previous involvement in the case concerning the monastery's eviction from the Lower Lavra.
"The recusal was granted, and the case has been sent for reassignment through an automated distribution process, after which the date of the next court session will be set," the lawyer stated, thanking the faithful for their prayers and support.
Previously, the UOJ reported that the court had granted a motion by UOC lawyers in the Upper Lavra case.
