On February 6, 2025, Volodymyr Zelensky told journalists that the Rada was unable to carry out its work properly because half of its members had gone to the U.S. Embassy for a prayer breakfast.

Speaking about the Rada as a branch of power, the president sarcastically remarked that he “would like these branches of power to be at work.”

"Today, we have a prayer breakfast in the United States. It is very important when half of Ukraine’s parliament is at the prayer breakfast," Zelensky remarked sarcastically. "Not in Kherson, not in Kharkiv, not in Zaporizhzhia, not in Sumy. They can talk about Kursk battles, they an post about casualties there, but at the same time they travel in such a large group to a prayer breakfast…"

According to him, "the issue is not with the United States, but with the constant absences of MPs who refuse to work."

When asked by journalists whether this meant he was dissatisfied with the parliament’s work, Zelensky wittily replied: "I am satisfied with the work of parliament, but unfortunately, parliament does not work every day."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that Zelensky organized a "military breakfast" in the Refectory Church of the Lavra.
