Head of SBU department "specializing" on UOC turns out to be an FSB agent

February 12, 2025 – Head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Vasyl Maliuk, announced that his subordinates had detained a "top rat" – the head of the headquarters of the SBU’s Anti-Terrorism Center.

According to Maliuk, this center was also known as "Department T" within the structure of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Maliuk stated that the suspect had held his position since 2016 and was a recruited agent of Russia’s FSB. According to him, through this "rat," the security service was "feeding the enemy our disinformation."

Media reports indicate that "Department T" within the SBU is responsible for working with hierarchs and believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC).

Earlier, the UOJ reported that pressure on the UOC is being exerted by an elite SBU unit – Department 'T'.
