Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu from the Church of Greece has presented the Cherkasy Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) with vestments of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous, the diocese’s Telegram channel reported.
"This gesture is an expression of Our solidarity with Your faithful, who are enduring trials, and a sign of support for the Orthodox Canonical Church, headed by Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine," the Greek metropolitan wrote.
"Sharing in your trials, including your arrest and judicial persecution, we also grieve over the news of the violent seizure of your cathedral three months ago.
We pray to our saint that he may grant you courage and strength! Taking advantage of this opportunity to communicate, I wish you all the best, that our Lord, through the prayers of our holy father Spyridon, may grant you strong spiritual and physical health and strengthen you in your difficult ministry!" concluded the Metropolitan of Corfu.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that a slipper of Saint Spyridon of Trimythous from Corfu had arrived at the Cherkasy Eparchy.
