Organization of a possible visit of Pope Francis to Ukraine is “on the agenda”. This was stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, responding to a request from Radio Svoboda.

"The issue of organizing a possible apostolic visit to Ukraine of Pope Francis at the invitation of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky is on the agenda of the bilateral political dialogue," the ministry's press service said.

Diplomatic channels will work out the possibilities and timing of the Pope's visit "in accordance with established practice," the Foreign Ministry added.

We will remind, President Vladimir Zelensky invited Pope Francis to Ukraine during his visit to the Vatican in February 2020. There is no official information on whether this visit will take place yet. The day before, the head of the UGCC said the pontiff could come to Ukraine in the near future.
