The controversial "priest" Roman Hryshchuk, who has participated in dozens of cases of transferring UOC churches in Bukovyna to the OCU, announced on his Facebook page an event for the "transfer" of the Holy Spirit Cathedral of the UOC in Chernivtsi. The action is scheduled to take place on February 16 in the city center.
"We remind Bukovynian Orthodox believers that the cathedral is the heart of all Bukovyna, and all Orthodox residents of Bukovyna have the right to vote for its liberation from Moscow’s occupation!" Hryshchuk declared, urging Chernivtsi residents to take action.
Meanwhile, the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Diocese of the UOC noted on its Telegram channel the presence of a large number of police officers and unidentified individuals.
"There is a gathering of unknown people near the cathedral, buses with Ivano-Frankivsk registration, and National Police representatives are being deployed," the press service wrote, calling on the cathedral community to come to the church.
Earlier, UOJ reported that the controversial "priest" Roman Hryshchuk was revealed to be a cleric of the Kyiv Patriarchate.
