On February 27, 2025, at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast in the U.S., Vice President J.D. Vance stated that Donald Trump’s efforts to establish peace stem from his commitment to fulfilling one of the most important commandments –"Thou shalt not kill." The speech was broadcast live on the White House’s YouTube channel.

He referenced the previous U.S. administration’s promotion of abortion and persecution of Christians, expressing gratitude to Trump for "taking an entirely different path."

"One of the most important parts of President Trump's policy and where I think President Trump's policy is most in accord with Christen Christian social teaching and with the Catholic faith is that more than any president of my lifetime, President Trump has pursued a path of peace," said J.D. Vance.

He emphasized that "when President Trump talks about the need to bring peace, whether it's in Russia and Ukraine, whether it's in the Middle East, we, of course, have to recognize that as a policy oriented towards saving lives and carrying out one of Christ's most important Commandments."

Earlier, the UOJ reported that, according to Vance, earthly rewards are not what truly matter – what matters is how we stand before God.
