Canadian UGCC community announces death of its SS 'Galicia' parishioner
Member of SS "Galicia" and UGCC parishioner Mykola Kashtyi
The Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) parish of St. Vladimir in Winnipeg, Canada, announced the passing of the last member of the Nazi SS 'Galicia' Division within their community.
"Our dear parishioner, patriot, and the last division member in the Winnipeg community, Mykola Kashtyi, has passed into eternity. Having endured the hardships of the liberation struggle and suffering injuries, Mykola lived to the age of 97," the UGCC community reported.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in the U.S., a UGCC metropolitan ordered the closure of an SS "Galicia" monument following a scandal.
