UGCC bishop "ashamed" that Trump shut down Voice of America

The hierarch of the UGCC in the USA, Boris Gudziak, stated on Facebook that the Uniates are “ashamed that America is silencing its own voice.”
According to him, “for decades oppressed peoples have been able to rely on VOA to get reliable information about American and world events and issues.” The Uniate bishop did not comment on how reliable the information provided by the Voice of America about events in Ukraine was.
Gudziak complained that some foreign journalists from Voice of America received American visas based on a contract with the company and could now be expelled from the country within 30 days.
According to Gudziak, two graduates of the Uniate Ukrainian Catholic University were among those dismissed. As a sign of support, the UGCC hierarch dined with them and gave them his farewell blessing.
Gudziak called for "no fear" and "no loss of faith." He expressed confidence that "God's truth will prevail." Whether his words imply that ‘Voice of America’ was broadcasting God’s truth, Gudziak did not clarify.
Earlier, the Union of Jewish Journalists wrote that the chief rabbi told the Voice of America why he lobbied for a law banning the UOC in the US.
