On March 25, 2025, the commission established by the Ministry of Culture at the beginning of the month arrived at the territory of the Lower Lavra. The press service of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra publishes a video showing its representatives near the entrance to the Near Caves.

The Ministry of Culture signed an order to create a commission that will examine the remains of the saints resting in the Near and Far Caves of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

“In the morning, the situation at the caves is calm. The brotherhood and lawyers of the holy Pechersk Monastery are constantly present on site,” commented on the situation in the monastery.

As reported by the UOJ, according to the order of the Ministry of Culture, the commission is to conduct a “study” of the relics of the venerable Pechersk saints by May 30, 2025, “assess their historical and scientific value, as well as compile lists of items that fall under the definition of cultural values.” The results of the commission's work will be classified and will receive the status of “information with limited access.”
