OCU forges documents for the UOC priest’s house
On February 21, 2022, the Bereznovo District Court considered a case regarding the forgery of documents by the newly created community of the OCU for the house of Archpriest Stepan Korolchuk, rector of the St. Mihael parish of Polesskoye village, Bereznovo district, in which he lives with his family.
A lawsuit was filed by the priest, because the OCU followers have been trying to evict him from the house where he has lived for more than twenty years.
“We are law-abiding residents of our country, therefore, we seek protection in all legal ways,” says Fr Stepan Korolchuk. “When I applied to the court a few months ago with a request to help defend my rights to the house, those who demanded to evict me also came to the court; however, they brought fake documents as the basis of their ‘rights’.”
Human rights activist Raisa Prikhodko says that she immediately noticed the forgery of the certificate of ownership of the house, which she pointed out to the court.
“The OCU community made its own duplicate of the document based on its application for the loss of a certificate of ownership. The registrar changed it and re-registered the church house in favor of the OCU community,” the human rights activist notes. “But this is a pure falsification on the part of the OCU, since the original document has been with Stepan Korolchuk for twenty years. He demonstrated this document as evidence in court.”
A pre-trial investigation was supposed to begin a month ago on the fact of forging a document by the OCU community, but law enforcement officers ignored the court order.
“That is why we again turned to the Ukrainian Themis. This time, the court decided to enter information into the register on the forgery of the certificate of ownership of the house and immediately begin an investigation into criminal proceedings,” Raisa Prikhodko sums up.
As the UOJ reported, the chairman of the Rivne Regional Council, Sergei Kondrachuk, is again trying to take away the Holy Intercession church from UOC believers.
