Kirovohrad hierarch appeals to regional authorities with an open letter

Metropolitan Joasaph of Kirovohrad and Novomyrhorod made a public appeal to the chief of Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration and the leadership of law enforcement agencies of the Kirovohrad region due to the violation of the constitutional rights and freedoms of believers in the Kirovohrad diocese of the UOC, the press service of the Kirovohrad diocese reports.

The appeal refers to the commission of illegal and unconstitutional actions by representatives of the authorities of certain territorial communities, in particular the Perehonivka UTC and the Adjamka village council of the Kropyvnytskyi district.

In his letter, Metropolitan Joasaph requested to take the necessary urgent actions of a procedural and legal nature, provide an appropriate legal assessment of unlawful actions and bring the perpetrators to criminal liability, as well as further promote the protection of the rights and freedoms of believers in the Kirovohrad diocese of the UOC.

As the UOJ previously reported, Orthodox Christians from EU countries called for preventing the seizure of the UOC church in Adjamka.
