Islamic muftis participate in the meeting of the Synod of Greek Church
On October 5, 2022, Muslim Muftis of Thrace participated in a meeting of the Holy Synod of the Hellenic Orthodox Church, the Greek publication Dogma reported.
The Muftis participated in the presentation of the book "Women in the Shadow of Violence. Pastoral Responsibility and the Perspective of Religions," written jointly by Orthodox and Islamic theologians.
The event was held this afternoon in the conference room of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. According to the press service of the GOC, the important collection of articles, written "by Greek citizens, members of both Christian and Muslim communities, presented substantial information about the views of the two major monotheistic religions, the Orthodox Church and Islam, on the subject at hand."
Mufti Osman Hamza participated in the meeting of the Synod of the GOC from the Islamic community of Thrace.
Earlier the UOJ wrote that the Holy Synod of the GOC was attended by a woman for the first time in history.
