Political expert: The state plants a "ticking bomb" in the religious issue
Vadim Karasev noted that difficult times await the UOC.
Political expert Vadym Karasev, commenting on the decision of the Ministry of Culture to evict the UOC from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, said that the UOC may face difficult times, up to going underground. This is reported by the Strana.ua publication.
“But this will raise the question of the loyalty of a part of society to the state. And most importantly, such steps by the authorities will not solve the Ukrainian religious issue, but rather exacerbate it instead, turning it into the category of a ‘ticking bomb’,” Karasev says.
As the UOJ reported, the President of Ukraine commented on the expulsion of the monks of the canonical Church from the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.
