The Commissioner for gender policy will work under the office of Ivanna Klimpush-Tsintsadze, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration.
At the meeting of the government, the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration thanked the heads of the ministries for supporting the relevant decision.
"I am grateful that such an authorized representative can be created in the secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers. I would like to remind you that our efforts are supported by international partners – both individual countries, in particular Sweden and Canada, as well as major international organizations such as the United Nations," Klimpush-Tsintsadze said.
Klimpush-Tsintsadze also stressed that gender equality issues are important in the context of Ukraine's European integration and in the context of the country's integration into the NATO.
