Village residents in Carpathian region accuse KP member of stealing 700 000 UAH
In 2011, a representative of the UOC-KP began repairing the rural church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, the residence and the arrangement of the territory. At the same time, every rural house handed over 115 UAH monthly for the repair work. It was done.
However, in six years nobody reported before the community for expenses. The issue of funds was enquired after the village council of the regional department of culture, tourism and religion received documents for examination on the amendment of the charter of the church community of Novitsa village and that the temple and residence are transferred to the ownership of the UOC-KP eparchy.
According to the rural head of Vladimir Golovchak, people whose signatures were in the documents claim that they did not sign anything. There were also no meetings on amending the statute.
Residents of the village created an audit commission, which found a shortfall of almost 700,000 hryvnias. As a result, Liubomir Podorozhny returned 220,000 UAH to the church cashier. Members of the audit commission wrote an application to the prosecutor's office.
